Si commercialement parlant le roi de l’année 2015 est sans conteste Drake, sur le plan artistique il se pourrait bien que la couronne échoue sur la tête de Kendrick Lamar. C’est en tout cas apparement le sentiment des jurés en charge de la 58ème cérémonie des Grammy Awards.
Le MC de Compton récolte ainsi pas moins de 11 nominations. Un chiffre impressionnant proche du record établi précédemment par Michael Jackson qui avait été cité dans 12 catégories. Lamar détrône en revanche Eminem qui était jusque-là le rappeur le plus nominé (10 fois).
Derrière lui The Weeknd et Taylor Swift se disputent la place de dauphin avec 7 nominations chacun. Notez que Drake a été nominé dans la catégorie Meilleure performance rap pour le titre Back to Back qui clashait Meek Mill.
